I've always hated watercolors, kinda because it's hard and you can't mess up but mostly because I suck at it. I took a class once in 8th grade, painted a few flowers, fruits and shadows before the teacher monopolized it and painted the rest (the background of this one is hers). I think it was painful for her to see how much I was butchering her medium. Anyway, I liked how these turned out but I doubt I can paint like this anymore.

In 8th grade, mom shipped us off to an acrylics class taught by some woman at the local ymca equivalent. I decided that I liked the medium, but hated the teacher so I never went again.

Old School Sketches

Background: First, I must explain that what I have remaining in my body of work is completely random. Between moving eleven times since high school, my parents moving into another house, and my apparent apathy toward my artwork in general-- a lot of stuff has been lost or given away. Despite the fact that I have previously been reluctant to show my friends this body of work, I've decided to dig these up and show them in hopes that it will motivate me to do more.

So, I've spent these couple of days digging up these random works from under my bed, behind the refrigerator, in my closet, and share them with the public for the first time. Enjoy, and leave me your thoughts. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Blogs are out, but archiving is in. Melissa inspired me to start archiving my work online, so let's try this out. I should dig up my work, blow off the dust, and start taking some pictures. Hopefully this will help motivate me to get back into this. Cool, let's do it.
